Replacing the Ferrari 348 in 1995, the Ferrari F355 is a two door mid-engine sports car manufactured by Ferrari from 1994 to 1999. Throughout its production run, there were a total of 11,273 units produced across several variants including the Ferrari F355 Spider, the Ferrari F355 GTS, the Ferrari F355 Spider, and the Ferrari F355 Challenge.

The F355 3.5L V8 engine under the hood was capable of providing more intake and overall power than the 3.4L V8 in the Ferrari 348. The small increase in displacement meant the F355 could produce a maximum power output of 375 horsepower with 268 foot pounds of torque at 6,000 rpm and a top speed of 183 miles per hour.

Originally available with a Bosch 2.7 (or m2.7) engine control unit in 1995, the F355 got an upgrade to the 5.2 (or m5.2) engine control unit from 1996 through 1999. This meant combining the vehicle’s intake to a single pipe. Moving to the single pipe did come with a minimal performance decrease of 5 to 10 horsepower.
Starting in 1997, the transmission in the F355 was updated from a 6-speed manual transmission to the F1 electro-hydraulic paddle shift gearbox. This meant faster gear changes with the added luxury for the driver of keeping both hands on the wheel at all times.

The Ferrari F355 was replaced in 1999 by the “all-new” Ferrari 360.
