The Ferrari Testarossa is a mid-engine sports car manufactured by Ferrari from 1984 to 1991. Premiering at the 1984 Paris Motor Show, the Testarossa was developed to overcome challenges of the Ferrari BB 512i. Specifically, the temperature of the interior and the lack of cargo space.
The Ferrari Testarossa was powered by a naturally aspirated 4.9 liter, 12-cylinder engine that was capable of producing 385 horsepower and 361 foot pounds of torque. With a top speed of 180 mph, the Testarossa could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. The mid-engine design of this sports car allows for increased stability and cornering ability.
Prior to being replaced by the Ferrari 550 Maranello in 1996, there were nearly 10,000 of the Ferrari Testarossa and its variations the Ferrari 512TR & Ferrari 512M manufactured, making it one of the most mass produced Ferrari models.
