The Ferrari 458 Italia Spider featured a retractable hardtop roof that takes 14 seconds to remove and stow. Due to the added weight, the convertible variant of the 458 Italia reached a top speed of 199 miles per hour without sacrificing overall performance by going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds. Featuring a sporty V8 engine, speed dual clutch transmission, and double wishbone suspension, this sports car continued to push the limits on maximum performance.
The first variant of the Ferrari 458 Italia, the 458 Spider was produced from 2011 to 2015. Additional modifications to the 458 line led to the introduction of the Ferrari 458 Speciale in 2013 and the Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta in 2014.
