Ferrari is no stranger when it comes to high performance sports cars, and the Ferrari 458 Speciale isn’t any different. This high performance variant of the Ferrari 458 Italia debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Like its predecessor, the 458 Speciale showcased a naturally aspirated V8 engine, dual clutch transmission, double wishbone suspension, and enhanced traction control system.
While there are many similarities to the 458 Italia, there are some substantial performance enhancements. Most notably, the engine in the 458 Speciale was upgraded to increase power output. The V8 engine sported an impressive 597 horsepower, 398 foot pounds of torque, and it could reach zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.0 seconds. Similarly, the enhanced aerodynamics and electrical system made it one of the most technologically advanced sports cars of its time.
Manufactured from 2013 to 2015, the 458 Speciale paved the way for the Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta—the convertible variation—in 2014.
