Inspired by the Ferrari 360 Modena road car, the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale was a track-focused sports car developed specifically to improve performance on the track.
Like the 360 Modena, the 360 Challenge Stradale used the mid-engine rear wheel drive 3.6L V8 engine. By focusing on handling, braking, and weight reduction the Ferrari engineers were able to create an improved power-to-weight ratio even with only a slight 25 horsepower increase to 420 horsepower. Due to the weight reduction, the Challenge Stradale was able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in four seconds with a top speed of 176 miles per hour.
