With a factory to dealer installed conversion kit, the Ferrari F355 could be transformed into a race-ready Ferrari F355 Challenge for use in the Ferrari Challenge race series. The kit was more substantial than previous kits but as production continued into 1998, more units were outfitted with the performance parts at the factory. This made them virtually complete race cars, except for the few parts needing to be fit by the dealer.

Without any major upgrades from the standard berlinetta, the peak performance of the Ferrari F355 Challenge doesn’t change. The mid engine 3.5L V8 is capable of producing 375 horsepower and 268 foot pounds of torque at 6,000 rpms and topping out at 183 miles per hour.

By the end of production, 108 total 355 Challenge vehicles were created. Each included the original 6-speed manual transmission.
