Like it’s predecessor, the Ferrari F40, the Ferrari F50 was a mid-engine road-going sports car manufactured for competition in the GT1 class of the BPR Global GT Series.
The F50 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.7 liter V12 engine modeled after the engine used in the 1990 Formula One race car. The engine is capable of producing 739 horsepower and 347 foot pounds of torque, helping the F50 reach a top speed of 202 miles per hour.
Other notable changes from the F40 to the F50 include a large rear wing, fixed roof, and adjustable suspension system
During the limited production run, only 349 cars were manufactured from 1995 through 1997. Ferrari cancelled the F50 project as focus shifted to the Formula One racing circuit.
